Mission Statement

APELC Burdekin Drive is a privately owned Early Childhood Service which aims to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment. We strive to create an active learning environment that excites and enhances individual interests and encourages continual opportunities for children to explore, experiment, create, and investigate.

At APELC Burdekin Drive, we are committed to maintain an inclusive environment which is respectful of children from diverse family and cultural backgrounds. We create a place where every child is valued as unique and deserving of an Early Childhood Education that develops a strong sense of identity and wellbeing as they experience the world around them.

We actively collaborate in partnerships with families and community organisations to consistently deliver a high-quality educational program. Our objective is to foster a welcoming atmosphere that instils a sense of belonging and well-being amoung both our new and existing families.

Service Provider Daniella Tassone

With over 30 years of experience, I have dedicated myself to gaining various qualifications, including certificates, diplomas, and a Bachelor of Teaching degree. These achievements have provided me with a solid foundation of knowledge and a continually evolving skillset. Over the course of my career, I have embraced many diverse roles within the early childhood education sector so I intimately understand all aspects of early learning teaching and running a successful early learning business.

For the past 14 years, I have been dedicated to the field as a private entity, successfully owning and operating two childcare services within the Illawarra region. My expertise in Early Childhood Education is complemented by the core values I hold dear, such as a strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of children.

My passion for educating young children is stronger than ever and continues to grow. For me, it has never been about personal reward or satisfaction; my drive comes from helping young children learn, explore, and succeed, and advocating for the best possible outcomes for them and their future.
I am incredibly proud and privileged to have built strong relationships—not only with my colleagues, the children, and their families at my services—but also with the wider community and other professionals within the Early Education and Care Sector.

Beyond my professional qualifications, my role as a mother to two teenage boys has greatly shaped my approach to education and leadership. Raising my boys has reinforced the values of hard work, resilience, and perseverance—values I strive to model both at home and in my professional life. My commitment to education extends not only to the children in our centre but also to my personal journey as a lifelong learner.
